Compressed Air Australia releases new HoseGuard safety fuses to protect employees and machines

Compressed Air Australia has released a new range of safety fuses
designed to protect pneumatic systems in the event of a broken compressed air
hose or pipe.

Protect-Air HoseGuard safety fuses protect employees, machinery and
equipment by shutting off the compressed air supply immediately, should the
volume of air exceed a set value. This ‘value’ is factory set to allow normal
air consumption when using air tools.

In the event a compressed air line is severed for instance, and the air
consumption exceeds the set value, an internal piston instantly shuts off the
main flow. An integral bleed hole allows some air to flow through enabling the
line pressure to automatically reset the HoseGuard once the main break is
repaired.

HoseGuard safety fuses are available in aluminium as standard, and in 316L
stainless steel on request. HoseGuard is suitable for every application involving
the use of compressed air including manufacturing facilities, mining, machinery
hire, fuel station air hoses, trade show venues, automotive workshops, chemical
and pharmaceutical industries, clean rooms, and offshore and onshore
requirements.

HoseGuard safety fuses for compressed air systems meet OSHA and MSHA
requirements, and are CE compliant to help Australian managers comply with
Workplace Health and Safety Act directives. HoseGuard complies with EN ISO
4414-11.2010-¨ 5.4.5.11.1: Failure of hose assemblies and plastic piping.

HoseGuard safety fuses are distributed in Australia by Compressed Air Australia.
