Treotham presents the new DryLin SLN-27 from igus, a small, lightweight
and lubricant-free drive system for positioning small loads.
Available with an optional NEMA 11 certified motor, the new DryLin
SLN-27 high performance miniature linear drives are developed specifically for
simple handling tasks in confined spaces, and offer the required design
flexibility for positioning small loads.
The DryLin SLN-27 miniature linear axis is based on the DryLin N27
linear guide system with the linear rail in both systems made of durable
anodised aluminium. The plastic carriage has high wear resistance, is
maintenance-free, self-lubricating and corrosion-resistant, and provides a ‘fit
and forget’ solution.
The compact dimensions of 22mm high by 28mm wide make the SLN-27 linear
drive ideal for low-load sensor adjustments and feed mechanisms, as well as
lightweight handling tasks such as those found in laboratory equipment and
camera inspection machinery.
Key features of DryLin SLN-27 miniature linear drives include lightweight
plastics and aluminium construction delivering robustness; carriage driven by a
5mm trapezoidal or high-helix thread lead screw and available in a range of
pitches from 0.8mm to 5mm; and lead screw nuts made of iglide high-performance
polymers optimised for lubricant-free operation over the entire stroke length to
a maximum of 250mm.
Made using stock components, individually configured to the required length,
the compact SLN-27 can be supplied as a complete system with a NEMA 11 stepper
motor, still achieving compact dimensions.
Customers that already have a stepper motor made by another manufacturer
can use a ‘quick-fit’ aluminium spacer and motor flange connection from igus to
fit the NEMA 11 motor.
